Telephone Communications

Communication among team members is so important. You and your child are the ones this study is all about. We would like to hear from you, and we want you to be able to contact us as often as you need.

Study site coordinator telephone calls:

Each of the 12 study sites has a study coordinator.

Your study site coordinator will be calling you to see how you are doing, if you need any supplies, answer any questions related to the study, and to schedule / reschedule study visit appointments. Of course, you can call her with immediate questions and concerns as well as requests for appointment changes and visual supplies.

Data Coordinating Center (DCC) team member telephone calls:

Trained interviewers from the DCC will call to gather information related to your child's eye care at home.

This person will call you approximately every three months to collect information about how often your child is using the contact lens, glasses, and the eye patch. This interviewer will ask you about the previous two days with the conversation lasting about 15 to 30 minutes. Although you will not know when this call will come, you will be able to let us know the best times for you to talk. The quality of a child's sight is affected by how faithfully the treatment plan is followed. By gathering this information we can determine how well the home eye care is progressing with all the study participants. What you tell us will be very important to the success of the study.

We look forward to talking with you!
