Air pollution exposure modeling
The air pollution exposure assessment work
in our group primarily involves the development of spatio-temporal
statistical models at the local to national scales. The primary target
pollutant is PM2.5 due to its significant associate with various
adverse health outcomes. We have conducted numerous studies to assess
both short-term changes and long-term trends of PM2.5 in the US and
China.
Example: 1 km resolution ground PM2.5 concentration surfaces in the
Southeast estimated using MAIAC AOD (Hu et al. 2014, ACP).
Example: model-predicted historical PM2.5 trend in China based on a
10 km resolution hierarchical model using MODIS AOD (Ma et al. 2016,
EHP).
