Providing Care during an Emergency: A Focus on Professional Licensure and Liability

Susan P. Ayers, MPH, BSN (District Four Public Health Director of Nursing and Clinical Services) and Janet K. Jackson, JD (Assistant Attorney General, GA) co-present this lecture which concentrates on professional liability and licensure issues of nurses, particularly during an emergency. Discussion includes an overview of relevant practice acts, issues regarding limitations and scope of practice, nursing rules and regulations, and the process for activation of the response system.
