Excellence in Action To culminate this year’s lecture series, the “Excellence in Action” lecture, showcases the experiences and stories of Dr. Claire Hicks, a family practice physician in South Georgia. Dr. Hicks has been recognized by many for her dedication, compassion, energy, innovative ideas and expertise. This lecture provides an opportunity to hear first hand from a motivational and inspirational medical and public health professional who has identified useful concepts in the face of scare resources or other obstacles. As she shares her experiences, Dr. Hicks encourages interest in and an understanding of the problems in rural areas and focuses on ways to preserve a passion in our work.
