NEW FACULTY OPENINGS

Lance Waller, Ph.D. On behalf of the faculty, staff and students in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, I want to personally welcome you to our website. The faculty and staff in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics are committed to providing our graduate students with an excellent diversified educational experience. Our faculty prides itself on being at the cutting edge of research in biostatistics and in addition, they collaborate effectively with virtually all departments and units in the Woodruff Health Sciences Center.

Biostatistics and Bioinformatics are exciting challenging disciplines. Our graduates find well paid positions in academia, the private sector and in government. With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) located adjacent to our campus, we like to think of ourselves as the "Public Health Capital of the World." There are many opportunities for students and faculty to collaborate with investigators at Emory from the Rollins School of Public Health, the School of Medicine, the Winship Cancer Institute and the School of Nursing in addition to CDC and the American Cancer Society.

Our curriculum is by nature quantitatively rigorous and, hence, we recruit students with excellent quantitative skills that have a strong interest in science. Our faculty to student ratio is low, and thus our students are able to engage in productive exchanges with our distinguished faculty. As you browse through our departmental website, we trust that you will get a feel for our commitment and dedication to our work. If what you read sounds exciting, we encourage you to apply.
