Emory PERRC Advisory Board Members

James Curran, MD, MPH, Dean of the RSPH and professor of Epidemiology will serve as chair of the advisory board and will be a permanent member. He serves as chair of the Board on Population Health and Public Health Practice (formerly known as the Board on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention) of the IOM. Before becoming Dean, Dr. Curran led HIV prevention efforts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, retiring from the US Public Health Service as an Assistant Surgeon General. Before CDC, he held research positions with local health departments in Tennessee and Ohio, and faculty appointments at the University of Tennessee and Ohio State University School of Medicine. He was also a Fellow at the Harvard Center for Community Health and Medical Care. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and is past President of the Association of Schools of Public Health.
