Entertainment - Public Health Summit

Sonny Fox, President and CEO of Sonny Fox Consultants, emcees the Entertainment - Public Health Summit that explores the powerful connection between the entertainment industry and public health.  Speakers include: Albert Bandura, PhD, David Starr Jordan Professor at Stanford University; Gary Knell, President and CEO of Sesame Workshop; Kate Winskell, PhD, Director of African Project; Jose Rimon II, Senior Deputy Director at the Center for Communication Programs at Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health; Arvind Singhal, PhD, Professor of Communication Studies at Ohio State University; Sonya Lockett, Vice President of Public Affairs at Black Entertainment Network; Michelle Albon, Director of Primary Research at Telemundo; and Diana Diaz, Director of Corporate and Community Relations at Univision. Additional panelists discuss the successful incorporation of HIV/AIDS into the storyline of “The Bold and the Beautiful” and the preparation that went into the development of the story. Mike Magee, MD, Director of Pfizer Medical Humanities Initiative and host of Health Politics introduces an additional panel of experts that explores new challenges in taking communication and health strategies to new dimensions.
