880 Martin Street Club HERO, National Families in Action Began in 1994 as an outgrowth of the work of National Families in Action and the Community Health trainers who lived in public housing. This program is comprised of housing residents trained as community health trainers to teach National Families in Action drug education courses to eighth grade students as part of the student's health curriculum at Usher Middle School in East Atlanta.

139 Renaissance Parkway Families First (Central office) Started as an orphanage for African-American girls; now works with neglected, abused and other high risk children in either a group home or foster home setting. Also provides assistance to pregnant or teen parents. Their Family Development Center works with first time mothers and the homeless to help them become economically stable.

4057 Kings Causeway Fulton County Prevention Resource Center For Families Promotes community service through prevention activities for youth. Students learn how to resist peer pressure to do drugs. In addition, 126 students and teachers in Fulton County Schools have been trained in Peer Mediation and Violence Prevention and 6 schools have active peer mediator programs as a result of this program.

Free Mind has four operational components including: education and public awareness; program development; research; and advocacy. Currently, FMG is working to develop a national think tank on mental health strategies for African American youth and local mental health initiatives with the Atlanta Public School System.

Some of the programs offered are reading enrichment, and leadership development through activities like hiking, camping and other adventure based activities. Additional training is provided through violence prevention courses, wellness and health education programs.

ICPS help children learn skills that they can use to prevent or resolve conflict between themselves and others and make appropriate choices.
100 Edgewood Avenue Kids Gym USA, Inc. A non- profit early intervention, that attracts "at risk youth" to an educational environment, keeping them off the streets and away from potential detriment. Serves as an alternative to the lure of drugs, gangs violence and other anti-social behavior.
915 Kite Lake Trail MACAD(Metropolitan Atlanta Council on Alcohol and Drugs) Prevents alcohol, tobacco an other drug related problems through information, dissemination, education, community based programs, environmental policy and social strategies. New Birth Missionary Baptist Church Freedom Drug Ministry is a substance abuse program for former drug users both in the congregation and in the church community. Classes are made available regularly for both youth and adults.
2712 Snapfinger Road Odyssey Family Counseling Center Provides adolescent substance abuse treatment, prevention and education. Odyssey also provides child abuse and domestic violence counseling.
3378 South Fulton Avenue Park Communities Services Council, Inc. Provides After-School programs in 10 communities 5 days a week from 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM. Each site provides 15-22 ‘latch key' youth, age 5-17 years with a variety of educational, developmental and recreational activities. The Boys Town behavioral modification model and common-sense parental training is also provided.
6425 Powers Ferry Road, Suite 110 Pen Pal Cookbook Intergenerational project created at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. School age children developed a relationship with residents in the Summerhill community through a pen pal program. A Pen Pal cookbook grew from this relationship to feature and preserve African American recipes from the citizens of the community.
582 Conly Street SE Pinnacle: Leila Valley After School Program Provides tutoring for school age children and offers various community programs to include Black History, Christmas caroling, arts and crafts and a host of other activities. Frequently special guests are invited to speak on various topics like fire safety and drug prevention.
2413 Leila Lane Project Excellence - Bowen Homes, Harris Homes, University, Grady & Thomasville Project Excellence is an innovative, community-based substance use and prevention program designed for youth ages 11-13. The program also contains an African-centered component which enhances cultural esteem. Parents are encouraged to participate in monthly "empowerment workshops" through this project as well. Project Interconnections On-site supportive mental health services to provide housing for homeless people suffering from chronic mental illness. Since 1990 three residences have opened: Phoenix House - houses 48 former homeless adults; O'Hern opened in 1993 and offers dorm-like housing for 76 mental health clients; Presley Woods Apartments opened in 1996 and offers 40 furnished studio apartments with various on-site services and programs.
57 Forsyth Street, NW Englewood Manor's Summer Camp/ After School Program The after school program and summer camp was designed to keep kids occupied with constructive activities. Some of these activities are bi-weekly field trips and various educational and cultural events.
441 Dalton Street Super Stars Program Provides holistic, comprehensive, culturally appropriate primary prevention programs which exist in two sections, multi-cultural and afrocentric. Super Stars features timely topics presented via artistic models such as storytelling improvisational theater, puppetry and mask making. The Super Stars' program is located in public housing in Cobb county.
2045 Peachtree Road, NE Teen Initiative (Fulton County Library - Perry Homes) Provides help with homework and offers G.E.D. preparation for adults. Serves approximately 100 children ages two through kindergarten, and provides special reading programs including storytelling and cultural programs. Courses in Parental skills are also made available to young mothers.
1900 Perry Boulevard NW Teens on Target This program targets drug awareness and prevention, AIDS education, career seminars, seasonal sports and cultural activities. Homework assistance is also provided to students who require it.

Box 11428 The Wholistic Stress Control Institute, Inc., Non-profit community-based organization whose purpose is to increase personal resources for coping with stress through programs, consultation and educational resources. Currently, free after school programs for youth in public housing projects and parenting classes are available to Fulton County residents who are recipients of aid to families. The three housing projects served are Perry Homes, McDaniel Glen and Kimberly Courts.
