Newcomers' Network
logo Newcomers' Network provides a broad range of services to over 1200 refugees per year, primarily women and children in the metro Atlanta area through two community centers in areas heavily impacted by the influx of refugees and immigrants. The agency was started in 1986 to help newly arrived refugee families meet their child care needs so parents could find employment and become self sufficient. Services and programs include health and safety workshops, child care training, employment classes, citizenship classes for elderly refugees, and after-school programs.

Our Mission
"Newcomers' Network is dedicated to helping refugee/immigrant women and children regain self-sufficiency through education, economic opportunities and direct support."

History
"Newcomers' Network, Inc. began in 1986 as the Refugee Child Care Assistance Project (RCCAP) of Save the Children Child Care Support Center (STC/CCSC). RCCAP's primary goal was to train refugee women to open a child care business in their homes. As we worked with and came to know many refugee families, a myriad of other needs became apparent. As broader programs for women and children were added, RCCAP evolved into the Refugee Program and in 1996 became known as Newcomers' Network. On October 1, 1997, Newcomers' Network, Inc. became an independent community-based organization operating at two Refugee Community Centers in metro Atlanta. The centers are located in Clarkston and Chamblee, neighborhoods with the largest concentration of refugees in the state of Georgia. Most of Newcomers' Network staff are refugees and speak several languages."
