Community Empowerment
The organization/agency must have:
- Functioned as an entity for a minimum of three years.
- Provided outreach services to disenfranchised populations of
metropolitan Atlanta area, and must have provided these services for a minimum
of 18 months.
- Assisted in the improvement of quality of life for disenfranchised
populations in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
- Assisted in the self-sufficiency of disenfranchised populations in the
metropolitan Atlanta area.
Economic Development
The organization/agency must have:
- created new jobs in the metropolitan Atlanta area.
- stimulated new businesses to come into the community.
- increased the tax base in the community.
- must have accomplished these activities within the past 18 months.
Organizations and/or agencies may be nominated for either one or both of the
two awards categories: (1) community empowerment and (2) economic development.
Nominations have already been submitted.
